As we move into September, the election season continues to warm up. The Party had a very successful debate party on August 6, at Round Table Pizza on Occidental Road in Santa Rosa. We will be meeting again at Round Table on September 16th at 5:00 p.m.
There is no charge. Everyone buys their own food. The debate is being run by CNN and will be held at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley. Come join us on the 16th and spend time with other Republicans.
The Sonoma County Republican Party is reinstating the Business and Professional Council. Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, September 29th at 7:30 a.m. at the Flamingo Conference Center. Cost of breakfast is $27.00. Our speakers will be Nancy Schmid, CEO of North Sonoma County Health Care District and Kristina Holloway, Chief Human Resource Officer. Come and get answers to questions about the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) especially what is in store for the country in 2016.
The Party has leased an office at 1421 Guerneville Road, Room 110. We have moved and are getting ready for the coming year. We look forward to having a place to meet and a central location to work. We are seeking donations for support of the office and support of campaigns. Thanks to all who have supported our efforts.
Those of you who are keeping up with the news are well aware of the issues that face this country. Unfortunately, many of these issues have been created by the current administration. The deal with Iran is of course disastrous and only increases the nuclear weapons race in the Middle East since so many of those countries are rapidly getting nuclear weapons in order to protect themselves from Iran.
The war on police is planned and is meant to weaken police forces. It is also important to remember that many of the demonstrators at police protests are funded by George Soros and other far left groups. These are not spontaneous demonstrations with people just deciding to travel across country and protest. It would be good reporting if the media actually covered Mr. Soros and his activities.
The Party is very interested in speaking with any Republicans who want to run for a city council, school board or commission position. Please contact us.
This last week was a very sad one for the Party and for many people in Sonoma County.
Jeff Tobes, one of our hardest working members passed away from cancer. His career as a teacher, supporter of the Historical Society and tireless worker for the Republican Party was inspiring. Jeff will be missed.
Let us continue Jeff’s work. Come join us as we work to take our county back.
