Say hello to the month of the year when the government gets a piece of your wallet. I have always thought that elections should be held on April 16th when voters are reminded that their money is going to a government that doesn’t always spend our tax dollars in the best way. Of course, politicians will always make sure no such thing ever happens.
Our meeting on March 22nd with Elizabeth Acosta, Deputy Registrar for Sonoma County was a most informative event. Deputy Registrar Acosta is an excellent speaker and gave us a great deal of information on how the Registrar’s office works and the various laws that must be followed. Volunteers are always welcome at the Registrar’s office.
Our speaker series this month on April 26th welcomes Tom del Beccaro, Author, Commentator and former Chair of the California Republican Party. Tom writes about tax policy and national politics. He will join us for our 100 day celebration where we will serve cake and champagne. It will be a fun evening.
In April, the committee will be voting on recommendations regarding the upcoming election in June. Two measures are on the ballot. Measure C is the Rent Control measure and Measure D will be a vote on the proposed tax on the cannabis business. We welcome input from members and visitors.
All registered Republicans are invited to our monthly Central Committee meetings which are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Come join us as we work to turn this county and this state around. Our office is at 1421 Guerneville Road in Santa Rosa. There is a map on our web site.
May you all have a blessed Easter.
