Our Christmas party will take place on December 20th at 7:00 p.m. at our headquarters at 1421 Guerneville Road. There will be no charge. If you would like to contribute a dish or some wine please e-mail us at email@example.com.
Our speaker series with Eric Roeser our county Treasurer/Auditor/Controller/Tax Collector was very informative. Mr. Roeser gave a detailed explanation of his job and answered many questions. He also explained how the county is dealing with finances in the aftermath of the fires.
Our next speaker series will take place on Wednesday, January 31st. That event will be our sheriff candidate forum. Four people are running for the position of Sonoma County Sheriff. This forum was originally scheduled for October but was cancelled because of the fires. Come and join us to meet the candidates and hear what they have to say.
We are very excited about our Lincoln Day Dinner which is our major fund raiser. It will take place on Wednesday, February 21st at the Flamingo Conference Center. Our speaker will be State Senator Janet Nguyen who represents the 34th Senate District. Senator Nguyen and her family arrived in California in 1981 after escaping Viet Nam on a small wooden 10-meter boat sailing across the South Asia Sea. We are eager to hear from Senator Nguyen. Watch our web site for details regarding time and cost.
2018 is an election year. We have some excellent Republican candidates for Governor, Secretary of State and Attorney General and we will have candidates as part of our Speaker series.
We are also working on gathering signatures to place two propositions on the 2018 ballot. One is the gas tax repeal and the other is to repeal Proposition 14 which is the Top Two candidate choice. We will be looking for volunteers to gather signatures.
If Republicans want things to change in California, there will need to be some meaningful work.
Again, Merry Christmas. Hope to see you all on December 20th.
