Chairman's Message - February 2020

Here we are already in February.  This is the month when we celebrate the birthdays of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan.  These were Presidents who did so much to build, grow and maintain the American way of life as stated in our constitution.  Let us make sure that our children know who these men were and what they did that was so important to our way of life.

February is also the month when absentee ballots will arrive in your mail boxes.  Although the primary election takes place on March 3rd, for many voters the actual election takes place as soon as they get their ballot.  That is why the Republican Party in Sonoma County has been very busy making calls to all of our Republican voters to remind them to vote and support our candidates.

Our phone bank is a great place to do your part to save out county and our country from some of the outlandish ideas that are out there.  Come and make calls using our computerized phone system.  The office is open on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Remember:  In order to vote for Donald Trump in the March primary you must be a registered Republican.  That decision is based on the conviction that Republicans are the voters who pick their nominee.

There will be a Town Hall meeting on Saturday, February 8th at Round Table Pizza on Occidental Road in Santa Rosa.  Scott Giblin, Congressional candidate and Ron Sondergaard, Assembly 10 candidate will be speaking to voters.  We will also host a Town Hall on February 15th in Petaluma, please watch our web site for details. www.sonomacountygop.org

The League of Women Voters is sponsoring a candidate forum for the 10th Assembly District.  Ron Sondergaard will be there.  Assembly Mark Levine can’t seem to find the time to participate in a candidate forum.  The forum will be held on Wednesday, February 5th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Santa Rosa City Hall Chambers.

Have you been able to watch the impeachment saga in the Senate?  Watching Adam Schiff for anything more than a minute takes a great deal of intestinal fortitude.  How much is this all costing?  What an impolite question.  Hopefully, this is over very soon.
