Chairman's Message - January 2016

Happy New Year to all of the good people in Sonoma County.  2015 was a year of many challenges and surprises.  In 2016 we will also undoubtedly have many challenges and surprises.  Of course, a major challenge will be electing solid Republicans so that our country can solve many of the problems that we currently face.

Our Christmas Party was very successful.  We had a good turnout with Republicans we hadn’t met joining us.  Santa Claus also paid a visit.  The food provided by Rosalie Parks, Debbie LeBoy and Matt Heath was excellent.  Marie Derr provided the wine and Dave Salaun brought the beer.  Other members made a financial contribution.  I truly appreciate all the hard work by members of the committee.  Most of all, a good time was had by all.

The Sonoma County Republican Party will be working to elect Republicans to city council seats, school board positions and identifying Republicans who are interested in appointments to boards and commissions.  Of course, we will also work for our Assembly and State Senate candidates and for the nominee for the Presidency.  Success is going to depend on Republicans voting and persuading all Republicans to vote.

There will be two Republican debates in January.  The January 14th debate will be moderated by Fox Business.  The January 28th debate will be moderated by the Fox News Team.  We will be gathering again at Round Table Pizza on Occidental Road in Santa Rosa.  Join us.  It is a lot of fun to watch the debates with friends and like minded people.  Check the web site for more details.  The west coast time for both debates is 6:00 P.M.

Our Lincoln Day Dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24th at the Flamingo Hotel. This is one of our major fund raisers and is a wonderful opportunity to meet Republicans in Sonoma County.  Our speaker will be Senator Jim Brulte (Retired) who is the Chairman of the California Republican Party.  We will have the opportunity to hear what the Party is planning for this election year and to ask questions of Mr. Brulte.

The Business and Professional Group breakfast will be meeting in late January. We are working on the details regarding the time and our speaker and that information will be on our web site.

Our Central Committee meetings are on the third Wednesday of the month at 1421 Guerneville Road, Room 110.  Our January meeting will be on January 20th at 7:00 P.M.

Come join us.
