Time is certainly moving along. We are getting closer to the Sonoma County Fair (August 3 to August 13th) where we will need volunteers to manage the Republican booth. This year, the Fair has added a requirement for every exhibitor. Everyone who volunteers at the fair must have been cleared through the database Megan’s Law. As Chair, I must state that I have checked all volunteers and can attest that they are not on the Megan’s Law database. Therefore, I must have your name prior to July 15th if you want to volunteer at the fair. Send your name and phone number to our web site at firstname.lastname@example.org. Obviously, if you are on the Megan’s Law web site I assume you will not offer to volunteer.
Our speaker series has been very successful. At this point we have had three excellent speakers speaking on different topics and informing us on issues such as the political division in the country (Tom del Beccaro), the water situation in California (Paul Kelley) and the many rules and laws regarding voter registration and voting (Liz Acosta).
On June 28th at 7:00 p.m. we are excited to have John Cox, Republican candidate for Governor as our speaker. Mr. Cox has a plan for a neighborhood Legislature which should be very interesting. Of course, while our state legislature carries on and on about Donald Trump, they continue to pass horrible legislation which is going to ruin our state completely. A different plan is certainly worth considering.
What is also positive news is that Mr. Cox has put $1,000,000 into his campaign already. He plans to put more money into his campaign. As we all know, money is the mother’s milk in politics. He is also traveling throughout the state, speaking to Central Committees and Republican Women’s Groups.
If you intend to join us on the 28th, please e-mail the county (email@example.com) and let us know you are coming. We provide appetizers and wine and we do need a count so that we can plan. Since the county party is self-funded, there is a charge of $20 for the evening.
Last but not least, it is very important for Republicans in California to not lose hope. We are surrounded in this state by, in our opinion, misguided people and by some who are verging on being unhinged. The legislature is committed to passing laws that will solve all problems and keep everyone safe. That is the left’s commitment to having government solve all problems. Of course, that just limits our freedom more and more. This attitude assumes that people cannot figure out how to solve their problems.
Come join us and decide that you want to fight for the Golden State.
