The election season is getting more and more interesting as evidenced by the debate hosted by CNBC on October 28th. All of the Republicans who gathered at Round Table Pizza were enjoying the push back by the candidates. It is apparent that the Republican base wants a bigger fight from the candidates. Door mats don’t do well.
We will be gathering again on November 10th at Round Table Pizza on Occidental Road in Santa Rosa. The debate starts at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time and will be moderated by Fox Business News and will take place in Milwaukee, WI.
Come and join us. It is a lot of fun to be with like minded people who are friendly and fun.
On Thursday, November 19th the Business and Professional Club will host their second breakfast meeting. Our speaker is August Sebastiani, owner of The Other Guys in Sonoma. He will speak on some of the challenges that businesses in the wine and spirit industry face in dealing with the government. Come and meet August and other members of the Santa Rosa business community. We will be at the Flamingo Hotel at 7:30 a.m. Please sign up on the web site so that there is an accurate count for the Hotel or call 542-7066.
Our web site will have the location and time of all school board meetings in the county.
It is important that Republicans know what is going on in their school districts. We are encouraging Republicans who are willing to put time in and believe they can be a voice for a strong school system to check out their school board meetings and consider running for a position on the board.
Republicans need to inform and remind their friends and family of the original principles of the Party, which included Abraham Lincoln as one of the founders. These principles hold that the only purpose of government is to protect the equal natural rights of individual citizens. These rights are invoked by the Declaration of Independence – life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness- not happiness but the pursuit of happiness.
It is necessary to remember that the United States is a land of free individuals and not a conglomeration of discrete racial and ethnic groups. The Declaration of Independence asserts that all people have equal rights by nature and government’s purpose is to protect those rights. The Democrat Party today believes that it is government’s task to assign rights unequally, whether based on race or class, in order to achieve a predetermined social goal. This is a philosophy that must be countered.
Our weekly meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings take place at 1421 Guerneville Road, Room 110.
We look forward to meeting you.
