Unless you have been living in a cave deep in the lower recesses of the world you are aware that the country has been in turmoil over the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court.  What has happened to our country?

To any citizen over 45 the United States does not look the way it did when you were a child.  The family, educational institutions, manners and civility, respect for law and order and merit-based outcomes have all been in decline.

Institutions and norms that were the basis of American life are under constant attack.  A big question is:  What are those institutions and norms being replaced with?

Well, one thing they are being replaced with is screaming, cursing, physical attacks and endless demonstrations often paid for by specific provocateurs.  When did all of this start?

Let’s be very clear.  Every society has issues that need to be solved or improved.  However, the United States has stood for principles of freedom:  Waging a Civil War where 600,000 lost their lives to eliminate slavery: Fighting two World Wars to maintain freedom around the world: Winning the Cold War so that million of people could live in freedom.

So, who has been working to undermine this country and the principles that made us a great country?

Most people think that winning the Cold War meant that Marxist ideology was also defeated. That is not the case.

Antonio Gramsci was a leading 20th-century Marxist theoretician.  He believed that to develop communist power in developed, industrialized societies such as the United States would be best achieved through a “long march through the institutions.”  That would be a gradual process of radicalization of the cultural institutions of bourgeois society, a society that would in turn transform the values and morals of society.  Gramsci believed that as society’s morals were softened, political economic foundations of a country would be more easily undermined and restructured.

Herbert Marcuse, Theodor Adorno, Max Horkeimer, Eric Fromm and Wilhelm Reich were Europeans who had to leave Nazi Germany and who were advocates of Cultural Marxism.  Herbert Marcuse stated that in the context of American culture, “the long march through the institutions meant “working against the established institutions while working in them.”

Many of these men were focused on remaking and transforming society through attitudinal and cultural change.  They incorporated Marxist class theory into sociology and psychology while also assimilating Freud’s theories on sexuality.  Marx’s theory of the dialectic of perpetual conflict was joined with Freud’s ideas, creating a sort of Freudo-Marxism.  The joining of these ideas was called Critical Theory.

Critical Theory ideas were embraced by teacher’s colleges throughout the country in the 1950s and 1960s.  Cultural Marxists were smart in recognizing that psychological conditions were more effective than philosophical arguments in order to transform American culture.

The Critical Theory Advocates prioritized the demolition of Christianity and the nuclear family.  They sought to exacerbate racial tensions and promote massive immigration so as to destroy national identity.  The agenda also included dependency on state benefits and weakening the legal system to favor criminals over victims.  Of course, the agenda included dumbing down the media and weakening schools’ and teachers’ authority.

A major part of the Critical Theory project was to destroy traditional relationships between men and women by promoting and legitimizing unhinged sexual permissiveness with absolutely no cultural or religious restraint.

What is evident today in the 21st Century is that so much of the Critical Theory has been absorbed by today’s Democrat party.  In 2015, Hillary Clinton proclaimed to the Women in the World Summit, just before she launched her 2016 presidential campaign, that “deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”

Today’s political scene reflects Mrs. Clinton’s statement.  Many people are ready to convict Judge Bret Kavanaugh of sexual assault and rape.  There is absolutely no corroborating evidence. He was accused of running rape parties while he was getting straight A’s at Yale.

When you can be found guilty without a presumption of innocence our system of justice is under attack.  When screaming demonstrators proclaim that all women must be believed we are in trouble.  This public discourse relies totally on feelings. Evidence and truth are thrown out the window.  Consequently, our justice system is also eliminated.

The current societal changes that are being promulgated are meant to radically change American society forever.  The result is chaos.

All of this escalation ultimately goes back to the election of Donald Trump.  Donald Trump is the exact opposite of the people who want to change this country permanently.  Regardless of his style, ego and past, Donald Trump loves the United States.  He does not want to radically change the country.  For that reason, the President is anathema to many on the left.  As the economy improves to the point where more and more people are working and less and less people are on food stamps and government assistance, activists who want to radically change the country are becoming more and more unhinged.

It is worth noting that when the President is proclaiming his American First message, the left goes crazy.  America is not to be better than any other country.  Mediocrity is the desire.

Americans are going to have to decide just what they want their country to be.  That is what elections are all about.  Make sure your voice is heard.
