Rohnert Park City Council Elections:

City Leaders in Rohnert Park adopted a resolution that calls for the election of Council Members in Districts 1, 2 and 5.  The election will be held on November 8th.

The resolution also requests the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors to consolidate  the city’s election with the statewide general election. 

Candidates must live in the district they run for.  Winners of the races in District 2 and 5 will serve a Four year term.  The winner in District 1 will serve a Two year term.

Nomination papers can be obtained from the Office of the City Clerk from July 18th  through August 12th.  Nomination papers must be in the City Office by August 12th.

If nomination papers for District 1 are not filed by August 12th, the voters shall have until the close of business on August 17th to nominate candidates other than the incumbent for District 1.  There will be no extension of the nomination period for Districts 2 and 5 since there are no incumbents in these districts.
