Chairman's Message- September  2023

This year's Sonoma County Republican Convention was a great success! I would like to thank everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored and made it such a special day. Both the Press Democrat and Epoch Times covered the convention.

During the convention, attendees participated in a presidential straw poll. Donald Trump won with 80% of the vote, Ron DeSantis received 11%, Nikki Haley received 5% and Vivek Ramaswamy received 4%.

Convention attendees heard from US Senate candidates Eric Early and Denice Gary-Pandol, US Congressional candidates Chris Coulombe and Tief Gibbs plus State Assembly candidate Andy Podshadley. Thank you to California Republican Party Vice Chair Corrin Rankin for emceeing the event, San Francisco County GOP Chairman John Dennis and Lance Christensen (2022 State Superintendent of Schools Nominee) for rallying community members to get back involved in our communities.

In fact, a big theme for this year's convention was getting conservatives back involved in our communities. It is in that spirit that the Leadership Institute will host a Community Organizing Forum in Santa Rosa on Saturday, September 23rd.  Trainees will learn actionable skills and transformative mindsets from some of the best political minds in the country, with small group strategy sessions and coaching designed to delegate and schedule the direct action to implement your training. The Sonoma County Republican Central Committee September Meeting will be on Wednesday, September 20th at 7pm. We meet in the Cypress Room of the Finley Center in Santa Rosa. This month the committee will be taking up endorsements in some US Congressional, State Senate and State Assembly races.

The Sonoma County Republican Party is excited to host An Evening with Steve Hilton on Saturday, October 7th at the DoubleTree Hilton in Rohnert Park. Steve Hilton is a British political commentator, former political adviser, and contributor for Fox News Channel.  He served as director of strategy for the British Prime Minister David Cameron from 2010 to 2012.  Hilton hosted The Next Revolution, a weekly current affair show for Fox News from 2017 to 2023.
