Governor appoints new California judges.

Governor Newsom has appointed new judges in 17 counties.  Three of the judges have been appointed to the Sonoma County Superior Court.

The new Sonoma County judges are Lynnette Brown, a Sonoma County deputy public defender. She takes the seat of Judge Barbara Phelan who has retired.  Jane Gaskell, a partner at Andrian, Gallenson & Gaskell will fill the seat of Judge Jamie Thistlethwaite who has retired.  Page Hein, a Sonoma County deputy public defender will fill the vacancy of Nancy Shaffer who has retired.

The salary for these judicial positions is $231,174 annually.

The Governor also announced nominations for judges on the Court of Appeal. 

Justice Brian Currey-- Presiding Justice of Second District Court of Appeal – Division Four.

Judge Helen Zukin – Associate Justice of Second District Court of Appeal – Division Four.

Judge Martha Gooding –Associate Justice of the Fourth District Court of Appeal – Division Three.
