Our Hearts are Sad. Tony Bennett is gone.
Legendary singer Tony Bennett died on July 21st in New York. He was 96 years of age. Mr. Bennett had performed in Sonoma County in 2014 when he appeared at the Green Music Center. He also performed at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in 2011, 2016 and 2018. For so many of us “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” was the song that we most remember when thinking of Bennett. The glorification of a beautiful city in song is a reminder of what was.
