Chairman's Mesage - September 2019

We welcome the month of September with anticipation of many things happening in the political world.

The California Republican Party convention took place on September 6, 7 and 8th in Indian Wells, CA.  The setting was beautiful if a little warm but air conditioning is a wonderful thing.  This was a training convention with delegates learning about the latest technology and plans to win more seats.  We did learn one thing very clearly:  the Trump Campaign is fully engaged in the 2020 election especially regarding the congressional seats in California that were lost in 2018.

The party is also working hard and has filed a law suit against the legislature’s passage of the bill keeping Donald Trump off the 2020 primary ballot unless he releases his tax returns.  The goal of this legislation is to depress the Republican vote.  We cannot fall for that scheme.

We are very excited about our dinner this Friday, September 13th at the Doubletree in Rohnert Park.  Harmeet Dhillon, Republican National Committee Woman from California, outstanding attorney and a frequent Fox commentator will be our speaker.  There are no more tickets available for this event.

Our district chairs will be organizing teams of volunteers to make calls regarding legislation and also calls to the 8800 Republicans in Sonoma County who did not vote in the November election.  Unfortunately, this lack of civic involvement happened throughout the state.  If you don’t vote you have no right to complain.  Many races would have had a different outcome if all Republicans had voted.   Voting is a privilege and many would say a moral obligation.  In that same vein, we have a legislative tab on our web site.  It is crucial that Republicans know what is happening in the state legislature.

As a part of being a good citizen it is important to know who your county supervisor is. That information is based upon the supervisorial district you live in.  If you don’t know which district you live in the Registrar of Voters (707-565-6800) on Fiscal Drive can tell you and so can your local Republican party.

The local party is planning a Day at the Range.  Watch our web site for time and date.

We look forward to meeting our Republican friends.  If we are going to make California a Golden State again it will take all of us.

Come join us.
