Chairman's Message - December 2020

The 2020 election has highlighted a number of issues.  Nationally, Republicans did very well in congressional races and in state legislative races.  This means that the redrawing of congressional districts after the 2020 census will not be run by all Democrat state

parties.  It also means that Nancy Pelosi will have a very narrow majority in the House.  The blue wave turned into a red streak.  Whether or not the President and his team can prove in court that there was fraud in the 2020 election remains to be seen.

If we care about our state and our country Republicans are going to have to work.  Joe Biden has already stated that immediately after his inauguration he intends to send legislation to Congress legalizing 11 Million illegal aliens living in the United States (many in California).  That number is now probably closer to 20 Million.  This number will include people from all over the world living in the United States illegally.  It is plans such as this that makes the Georgia Senatorial race so critical.  Two Senate seats will be determined by a January 5th vote.  If Republicans do not win those two seats, Chuck Schumer will be Senate Leader and Democrats will be able to move their agenda forward.  That includes packing the Supreme Court, adding two states that is presumed would elect Democrat Senators and removing the filibuster rule in the Senate. 

The Sonoma County Republican Party will be making calls on behalf of Georgia Senator Kelly Loeffler and Senator David Purdue.  Sign up on our web site to make calls. www.sonomacountygop.org.  Office hours will be listed on the web site.  So many of you did such a great job during the 2020 campaign.  We look forward to working with you again.

We have until March 17th to gather 1½ Million signatures for the recall of Gavin Newsom. Come into headquarters and sign the petition if you have not already done so.

Thank you to all who have joined the Patriot Club which gives the local party the funds needed to maintain an office.  Hopefully, the vaccines will allow the party to utilize the headquarters as we have in the past.

This year has been an incredible stress and sorrow for so many Americans.  Being the fighters you are you have fought the good fight and soldiered on through pain, suffering, financial worries and boredom.  We will make it through because we believe in America and what our flag symbolizes.  Our flag stands for courage, perseverance, fortitude and the willingness to fight for our principles.

In spite of all the negative media about the evils of the United States we must remember that our constitution has provided the means for Americans to build and constantly improve a legal system so that all persons can live in a just society. 

As we look forward to a new year let us pray for strength, perseverance and wisdom.

Many Americans believe that the good Lord has allowed the existence of the United States for the very specific purpose of people living in a free society able to worship God in the manner they wish.  Let’s not forget that purpose.
