Assembly Bill 2098

Assemblyman Evan Low of Cupertino has introduced Assembly Bill 2098 which is named the Medical Misinformation Bill.  This law would prohibit physicians from freely providing medical advice and treating their patients if those practices run counter to the official state sanctioned position.  If this bill becomes law doctors who prescribe medications not approved by the state or who claim unsanctioned drugs are effective would see their license revoked and face strict penalties and disciplinary actions by the Medical Board of California.
