Assembly District 12:

Assemblyman Mark Levine has represented Assembly District 12 in the state legislature since 2012.  He ran for Insurance Commissioner in the June election.  Mr. Levine recently announced that he could not win the primary election and was behind Republican Robert Howell. 

The District 12 nominees on the November ballot will be Damon Connolly, a former San Rafael councilman and a current member of the Marin County Board of Supervisors.  He will be running against Sara Aminzadeh, a Marin County lawyer, environmental activist and a member of the state Coastal Commission.

Sonoma County voters could play a very important part in this race because they outnumber Marin voters.
