Chairman's Message - November 2019

Good grief!  Let us hope that November is quite different than October.  This has been a very tiring and worrisome October.  We live in an area which is on constant alert.  This can create internal turmoil and ongoing anxiety.  Welcome to California.

Because of the fires, the Sonoma County Republican party had to cancel our October 30th Speaker Series with Ray Navarro, the new Santa Rosa Police Chief.  We will reschedule.

On November 16th, the Sonoma GOP will be holding a campaign training session in our office on Guerneville Road.  There is no charge and lunch will be provided.  The training will be for candidates and volunteers who want to work to get the vote out.  Please register here

We have candidates for the major elected positions in the county: 

• Phil Johnson is running for the 3rd Supervisorial District
• Matt Nelson* is running for the 4th Assembly District (Endorsed)
• Scott Giblin* is running for the 5th Congressional District (Endorsed)
• Charlotte Svolos is running for the 2nd Assembly District​

The training will provide volunteers the training needed to help our candidates. 

Our office has been open for people who wish to sign the recall petitions regarding  Gavin Newsom so he can get a new job outside of Sacramento.  The fire has altered our schedule but hopefully we will be back on Saturday, November 2nd and thereafter every Wednesday from 10 until 2.  Many people are signing the petitions.  Anyone can take the blank petitions and gather signatures.  It is important to follow the directions carefully because there is no doubt that every effort will be made by the administration to invalidate signatures.   

This is a very busy electoral year.  Watch our web site and our Facebook page to get the latest information.  Republicans need to stay strong and unite.
