Graton Resort and Casino              $1 Billion Expansion

The expansion at the Graton Resort includes a gaming floor almost twice the current size, 2,000 more slot machines and 200+ hotel rooms.  Greg Sarris, Tribal Chairman of the Federated Indians of the Graton Rancheria stated the following points at the groundbreaking ceremony.

• Dramatic increase in graduation rates for local tribal children
• 650 Indian children receiving school supplies and tutoring every year
• $2.5 Million gift to University of California that provides tuition assistance to tribal students
• Another 700 jobs at the casino in addition to the more than 2,000 already
• Over $200 Million contributed to Sonoma County and Rohnert Park as mitigation funds
• Nearly $90 Million in charitable contributions to social justice and environmental causes

The next phase at the Casino is a planned 3500 seat performance theater in 2025.  It would be the largest performance venue in Sonoma County.  Under the current agreement with Sonoma County, the tribe pays the county $9 Million annually.  Going forward, the payments to the county will rise to $14.5 Million with adjustments based on the consumer price index.
