Chairman's Message- June 2023

Congratulations to all of our Sonoma County 2023 Graduates. During a speech Abraham Lincoln gave while running for office in Illinois, Lincoln said: "Upon the subject of education, not presuming to dictate any plan or system for respecting it, I can only view it as the most important subject which we as a people can be engaged in." 

Unfortunately, California's education system ranks near the bottom in quality of education while being one of the most expensive in the nation. This is appalling!  As Republicans, we tend to let people live and mind our business, but we can no longer afford that attitude. Future generations can not afford it.  It's time to make a difference!

Next year every school district will have seats up for election and many of you can run or know someone who can run for a seat.  In fact there are elections in every city, school, fire, water and healthcare district in the county. We need better representatives. The June Meeting of the Sonoma County Republican Party will be held on Wednesday, June 21st at 7pm. We meet in the Cypress Room of the Finley Center in Santa Rosa. All registered Republicans are welcome to attend.

Join us in celebration of our great country at our Annual Independence Day BBQ on Saturday July 1st from 3–6 pm at 1421 Guerneville Rd.  Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, salads, desserts and drinks are included. Please stop by our GOP booth and say hello at the Rohnert Park Friday Night Market. It takes place every Friday Night from 4 - 7pm through August and is located at 500 City Center Dr in Rohnert Park.  

Speaking of GOP booths and good times, the Sonoma County Fair is just around the corner. This year's fair starts on August 3rd and runs through August 13th. We will have a large booth to get out the Republican message and we will need help. Please mark those dates down on your calendar and email volunteer@sonomacountygop.org.

SAVE THE DATE: The 2023 Sonoma County Republican Convention will be held on Saturday, August 26th at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. 

Over the past two and a half years, I've had the distinct pleasure be a guest on the Drive with Steve Jaxon on KSRO. I was first a guest during the election night coverage of November 2020 and continued for most Wednesdays through May of this year. I enjoyed representing a local counter point to the dominate left wing narrative we receive from our local media. Last week the Drive aired for the last time on KSRO. I would like to thank the ownership of KSRO, Steve Jaxon, John Kelly and the late, great Pete Foppiano for the opportunity, conversations and good times!
