Election for Sonoma County Superintendent of Schools.
The current Superintendent of Schools in Sonoma County is retiring. At this time two persons have stated that they are running for the position. Brad Coscarelli and Amie Carter have declared their candidacy.
Mr. Coscarelli is currently Principal at Hidden Valley Satellite Elementary. He served as Santa Rosa High School Principal for eight years. He was a classroom teacher for 10 years. Mr. Coscarelli received his Administrative and Master’s degree from Sonoma State University and is a registered Democrat who resides in Santa Rosa.
Dr. Amie Carter is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Education Services for Marin County. She is the former principal of Rancho Cotati High School in Rohnert Park. Dr. Carter’s goals as Superintendent are to further diversify the teacher workforce, expand Sonoma County Portrait of a Graduate Program, increase student engagement and emphasize efficient use of limited funds. Dr. Carter is a registered Democrat and resides in Petaluma.
