According to Webster’s Dictionary these are some of the definitions of the word FREEDOM. Enjoyment of personal liberty, of not being a slave nor a prisoner;  the enjoyment of civil rights. (freedom of speech, freedom of assembly etc.) generally associated with constitutional government:  the state of not being subject to determining forces; liberty in acting and choosing; ability to move with ease.

The question arises:  How free is free?  Am I free to extend my arm?  The first answer would be of course.  But what if when I extend my arm your face is in the way?  Once, it would have been very clear that you had no right to extend your arm into someone’s face.  In today’s world it will depend on who is extending the arm and whose face is involved. 

How does this philosophy play out in today’s America?   Let us look in depth at the whole Bret Kavanaugh attack. 

You may think that the charges against Brett Kavanaugh are random attacks by a small group of activists.  No, this is a much deeper and well planned attack which has much greater long term goals.

Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign was very busy with matters beyond her election. Beyond the Russian dossier the campaign also formed an organization called Demand Justice. Demand Justice is associated with a “social welfare organization” financed by billionaire activist George Soros.  Demand Justice has played a central role in leading activism against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. 

The financial support for Demand Justice comes from Arabella Advisors which is a strategy company that is massively funded and that pushes the interests of wealthy leftist donors. Arabella sponsors many dark money pop-up organizations which are designed to look like grassroots activist groups.

After the New York Times released the very incomplete and questionable article about Justice Kavanaugh, Demand Justice used the article to push their October 6 event to “protest this corrupt Supreme Court and demand an investigation of Kavanaugh.”

The October 6 event is being organized with the Women’s March which is funded by George Soros.  Demand Justiceused the Times piece to promote the October 6 rally and move forward on the goal of Impeaching Kavanaugh.  The group is pushing for an impeachment inquiry in the House.

Demand Justice was at the front of all of the anti-Kavanaugh activism we have seen this year.

Before the President announced the Kavanaugh nomination, Demand Justice committed to spending about $5 million to oppose any eventual Trump nominee for the Supreme Court.  Demand Justice seeks to raise $10 million in its first year.

Brian Fallon, the head of Demand Justice, was the press secretary for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.  The group’s digital team is headed by Gabrielle McCaffrey who was a digital organizer for Clinton’s campaign.

Fallon was a featured speaker at the conference of the Democracy Alliance which is a grouping of progressive donors.  Founders of the Alliance include George Soros and California billionaire Tom Steyer. 

Demand Justice is fiscally sponsored by the Sixteen Thirty Fund, one of four nonprofits run by Arabella Advisors.  The four nonprofits spent a combined $1.16 billion with the aim of advancing “the political policies desired by wealth left-wing interests through hundreds of “front groups.”

What is important about this information is what is coming in the future.  Demand Justice is already preparing the attacks on possible future federal judges.  They are targeting judges on President Trump’s Supreme Court short list and judges that have been or will be appointed to the federal bench.  The attack on Justice Kavanaugh is but a shadow of what is planned for future nominees.  Of course, the attacks on Justice Kavanaugh are also meant to scare and intimidate future nominees so they will not accept a nomination. 

What does this all have to do with freedom you may ask?  The scurrilous, defamatory, false accusations bring up the question:  If I extend my arm and I hit your face am I free to do that? If every judicial nomination is met with attacks, lies and a figurative hit to the face, where is our freedom as a nation?

Remember that the ultimate goal of the left is to have control of the judiciary.  That is how they see their path to victory.  They need the courts to uphold the progressive, leftist agenda. Democrats are much more attuned to the fact that survival of the Democrat party depends on the maintenance of the “living Constitution” as opposed to the Constitution as written and subsequently amended.  If the courts are no longer the Democrats’ backstop they would have to deal with the voting public.  That could not bode well for the liberal Democrat agenda.

So what do we do with this continual attack on the judiciary under Donald Trump?  This is where Republicans have to stand up and fight.  The aim of the far left is to discourage conservative candidates for judgeships because they will not want to suffer the abuse similar to what Justice Kavanaugh has had to endure.  We cannot let the far left limit our freedom in conducting the nation’s business.
