Chairman's Message  - October 2019

As we move towards the end of the year the political world continues to heat up.  For the first time in a number of years we have Republican candidates for most of our state and federal offices.  Scott Giblin is running against Congressman Mike Thompson.  Matt Nelson is running against Cecelia Aguiar-Curry, Assemblywoman for the 4th Assembly District.  Charlotte Svolos from Del Norte county is running against Jim Wood, Assemblyman for the 2nd Assembly District.  Right next door to our area we have a candidate running against Congressman John Garamendi in District 3.  Tamika Hamilton is a reserve Air Force officer and has taken on the challenge to help Mr. Garamendi enjoy retirement.  All of these candidates need our help in reaching voters and getting their message out.

The Sonoma County party is very excited about our Day at the Range on Sunday, October 20th.  There are very few tickets left.  Check our web site for current information. Tickets are $60 and include lunch.

Our speaker series continues on October 30th when we will welcome Santa Rosa Police Chief Ray Navarro.  If you are a member of the Patriot Club there will be no charge to attend the meeting.

There is a great deal of interest and excitement regarding the recall of Governor Gavin Newson.  Petitions are available at our headquarters.  Currently, the headquarters will be open on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.  You may come in to sign a petition or to pick some up and gather signatures.  Watch our web site because we will be posting additional hours when the headquarters will be open.

We are planning a candidate & volunteer training program scheduled for November 16th.  This will be open to people interested in running for any office and people who want to get involved in a campaign.  There will be no charge and lunch will be provided.

Obviously, the three ring circus taking place in Washington D.C. is annoying, distressing and stupid.  However, when the Democrats do not have anything to run on against the President beyond not liking him they have to come up with some conspiracy.  Many Republicans in Washington need to develop a spine and start fighting back.  That is true for Republicans in California.  We cannot all leave the state.  It is time to take a stand. Our freedom is being chipped away one step at a time.

The Sonoma County Republican Party is here and we are working on various issues. Watch the web site because we will be posting information on current legislation and initiatives.  Remember that we have a legislation tab on the web site.

These are difficult times.  We need to stay united and determined.

Come join us.
