Are You A Gig Worker?

Independent contractors are known as gig workers.  The Labor Department has proposed a rule that aims to reclassify millions of independent contractors as employees.  Approximately 20

million Americans work as independent contractors.  Since they are independent, they can set their own hours and work for more than one company at a time.  Independent contractors cannot unionize and are not covered by Labor’s wage and overtime mandates.  Unions wish to force businesses to reclassify contractors as employees which is what a proposed labor department rule would do.
