New City Manager for City of Sonoma

The Sonoma City Council has offered the job of City Manager to David M. Guhin.  The Sonoma City Manager will oversee activities at City Hall, emergency management and communication with the public.  Mr. Guhin has been an Assistant City Manager in Santa Rosa, Director of Santa Rosa Water and most recently Executive Director of government operations for the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria.  The position of Sonoma City Manager pays an annual salary of $236,000.

Mr. Guhin has a bachelor’s degree in environmental civil engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a Master of Arts in Organizational Development from Sonoma State University.  Mr. Guhin previously worked for city government in Santa Rosa where he developed the city’s action plan to address affordable housing.  He created policies on medical cannabis, and led the “emergency operation center planning and intelligence section” during the 2017 Tubbs Fire.  He also aided in the rebuilding efforts after the 2017 fire.
