Sonoma County Schools Win Awards

Five Sonoma County Schools have won awards from the California Distinguished Schools Program.  The schools are Corona Creek, Meadow, West Side, Alexander Valley and Liberty

Elementary Schools.  These schools are among the 365 schools included in the program.

The program evaluates schools’ test scores, chronic absenteeism, suspension rates and socioeconomic data.  All of this information can be found on the 2022 California School Dashboard.  Liberty Elementary in Petaluma is, according to District Superintendent Christopher Rafanelli, the most awarded distinguished school in California over the past six years.  Corona Creek and Meadow Elementary are in the Waugh Elementary School District in Petaluma.
