EIGHT PILLARS OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

In 1855, at the founding of the Republican Party, Republicans and other patriots shared a devotion to "the last, best hope of earth: and the Constitution which made it possible. Abraham Lincoln said their cause was a "struggle for maintaining in the world, that form and substance of governmnent, whose leading object is to elevate the condition of men - to list artificial wieghts from all shoulders - to clear the paths of laudable pursuit for all - to afford all an unfettered start and a fair change in the race of life." As Lincoln noted in the Gettysburg Address, dedication to this "great task remaining before us" was the core ideology of the Republican Party then and should be now.

THERE ARE EIGHT PILLARS OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

1. To protect and abide by the Constitution of the United States of America.

2. To maintain a strong national defense and secure our borders.

3. To cut taxes and reduce the size of government.

4. To balance the budget and be fiscally responsible.

5. To advocate individual freedom, responsibility and privacy.

6. To advocate free enterprise and private property rights.

7. To promote social issues and traditional values.

8. To educate our citizens of their heritage and with parental choice and control.

The original agenda of the Republican Party was both pro-free market and pro-constitutional rights.

Too much of the establishment Republican Party today makes lip service to that agenda but collude in passing laws that are indirect violations of that agenda.

All groups that are unhappy with the current Republican message need to get involved and bring the Party back to original principles. Third parties elect Democrats.
